During registration, a guardian asked me a question that kept circling in my mind: when deciding whether to opt for the religion class for their child, they asked: What is the real contribution of the religion class? What is its purpose? I confess I do not remember what I answered at that moment, but if they asked me today, I would say…

A Journey to the Heart

If you wonder what the religion class contributes, I will tell you that it is an adventure towards discovering the love of God and how we can share that love with others. It’s not just about stories and traditions; it’s about opening a space where students can explore and experience this love, understanding that they are part of something much bigger. This love guides students in the search for purpose in their life, showing them how to find their way in a world full of challenges and opportunities.

A Space Where Everyone Matters

When you ask me about the contribution of the religion subject, I see a class where each student discovers the unique value of every person. It is a place where they learn to appreciate the richness of human diversity and to share compassion and empathy. Here, each young person learns not only to be loved but also to love and serve others, fostering an education in values that are fundamental for their socio-emotional development.

Forging Warriors with Heart

What is its purpose? It contributes to the formation of resilient individuals full of self-love, who know their value and use it as their strength. It teaches them to face challenges with courage, faith, and hope, and to find satisfaction in lasting spiritual and emotional well-being. Here, we cultivate warriors of life whose shield is love and whose sword is compassion, preparing them to face life with determination.

Conclusion

So, what is the purpose of the religion class? It is not just a part of the national curriculum; it is the essence of a comprehensive education that seeks to form human beings aware of their connection with something bigger and transcendent, motivated by the love of God to find their purpose and live a life of service. The religion class prepares students not only to face academic and professional life but also to navigate life with a heart full of love, a mind full of purpose, and hands ready to serve, helping them to be happy in life.
